International Health Day Attracts Crowd At AUT

To honor World Health Day and give back to our community, AUT organized free consultations by medical doctors, dentists, optometrists, physiotherapists, nurses, and blood pressure and glucose tests were offered to the general public and to our AUT Community on May 15 on our main campus in Halat.

The Day was organized by the Nutrition department at AUT with the assistance of Students Affairs and in collaboration with ND Maritime Hospital.

Citizens of all ages came to get advice on their health, while Nutrition students handed booklets to visitors so the results of all tests could be recorded and analyzed accurately. This event organized by Nutrition department chair Ms. Jessica Maalouf is in line with our mission at AUT to have civically active and market-ready students. This event follows the two-month diabetes awareness campaign conducted by the Nutrition department in 18 towns and cities.

Dr. Joseph Chami, general director and owner of ND Maritime hospital, congratulated AUT on its community service activities and pledged continuous support of his hospital for similar upcoming events.
