Keeping to its 15-year long tradition. AUT celebrated World Diabetes Day by organizing an event in collaboration with the Lions District 351 Governor Michel Hassoun and Jbeil Universal Lions Club and Kaslik Marine Lions Club.
After free glucose testing performed by AUT Nutrition students to 108 people coming from the Jbeil district, the Lions Diabetes Unit performed the Hb1AC test for those with high glucose levels and offered 4 testing machines to patients.
This was followed by a medical presentation with Dr Perla Esseily and words by AUT President Chafic Mokbel, VP Marcel Hinain (also president of Jbeil Universal Lions Club), Governor Michel Hassoun and an exchange of gifts concluded the session.
The unveiling of the diabetes symbol at the facade of the AUT administration building followed in presence of staff and guests before lunch was served in Crystal Room.
World Diabetes Day is one of many international celebrations upheld by AUT.
