AUT Students Champion Environmental Awareness Through CSR Collaboration with HEAD

In a compelling demonstration of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in action, students from AUT participated in an environmental awareness session at Lycée National Mounsef on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. The event, hosted in collaboration with the Human Environmental Association for Development (HEAD) and its president and executive director, Marie Therese Seif, aligned closely with AUT’s mission to foster socially responsible leadership among its students.

Themed “Sharing the Planet,” the session focused on the core message: “Protecting Earth’s Environment is a Shared Global Responsibility.” AUT students joined HEAD representatives to engage with schoolchildren and educators on critical environmental issues, highlighting the role of collective action in sustainability.

This hands-on experience allowed our students to apply the CSR concepts taught in the classroom to a real-world setting. They witnessed firsthand the power of stakeholder engagement and ethical responsibility, particularly in environmental stewardship and youth empowerment.

“As Head of the Social Responsibility Committee at HEAD and an educator at AUT, I see this collaboration as a powerful bridge between theory and practice,” said Ms. Cynthia Zouein, who led the initiative. “It reinforced the idea that CSR is more than an academic concept — it is a value system that can guide real, impactful change. And this is what we strive for at AUT!”

The event also emphasized the broader impact of socially responsible behavior on diverse stakeholders — from young students to NGOs and the wider community. By participating in the initiative, our students not only contributed meaningfully to a local cause but also deepened their understanding of their roles as future leaders committed to sustainability and ethical action.

This partnership reflects AUT’s ongoing commitment to equipping students with the mindset, skills, and values needed to lead with purpose in an ever-changing world
