AUT Hosts a Conference on Religion and the Civil State

The Tammouz Foundation presented a book on the means to reach a civil state  written by the foundation president Dr Adonis Akra in collaboration with AUT.

The conference and book signing which took place in May 18 included AUT President Dr Chafic Mokbel as one of the 4 speakers and was attended by over 140 people.

Discussions around the book were Inspired by the results of a meeting between late Pope Francis and the Al Azhar president.

A part of the proceeds from the book sales was graciously offered by Akra to AUT students financial aid fund.

The conference, attended by over 140 people including MP Simon Abi Ramia and former minister Marwan Charbel, was introduced by Ms Liliane Azzi, professor of Human Rights at AUT and 4 speakers had a chance to offer an opinion about the book and its main theme. AUT President Dr Chafic Mokbel gave an insightful analysis of the book that was very much appreciated by the audience and the author.

In a generous gesture, Akra offered a part of the book sales to the financial aid fund of AUT.
