AUT at University of London Graduation 2025

As part of the ongoing tradition since AUT became a Recognized Teaching Center for the University of London’s LLM (Master of Laws) program, AUT Vice President of External Relations Marcel Hinain attended the graduation ceremonies held over two days, April 28 and 29. The ceremonies celebrated the achievements of 1,900 students from around the globe who received their degrees in over 130 majors.

Among the graduates were four students from Lebanon who earned their Master of Laws (LLM) through studies at AUT over the past 2-3 years. One of the graduates, Nadine Farhat, was present at the ceremony and proudly represented AUT.

The graduation ceremony featured Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, the Chancellor (honorary president) of the University of London, who presided over the afternoon session on April 28.

This event also provided an excellent opportunity for VP. Hinain to engage with University of London Vice Chancellor Dr. Wendy Thompson, along with senior staff members Tim Wade, Emily Scott, and Susan Breau, the Director of the Institute for Advanced Legal Studies. Discussions centered around the proposal of offering a prestigious PhD in Laws to LLM graduates through AUT.

As a Recognized Teaching Center, AUT plays a crucial role in recruiting students and delivering courses for the University of London’s Master of Laws program. This collaboration allows students to pursue their degrees while remaining in Lebanon, without the need for international travel. The partnership began in 2011 through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between AUT, the University of London, and the Beirut Bar Association, which has hosted the AUT Support Office for over 12 years.

AUT has distinguished itself with the highest success rate in University of London examinations among all recognized teaching centers worldwide, earning the designation of “The Star Program” from LLM Director Helen Xanthaki. Graduates who have obtained their LL degrees through AUT often see significant advancements in their careers on an international scale.
