Being a member of the Governing Board of the International Association of Universities for the Third Age, AUT attended the international conference and the 115th GM meeting in Prague on October 13-16, 2025 represented by Founder President Ghada Sakr Hinain and VP External Relations Marcel Hinain, joined this year by Student Affairs\ director Nay Hinain.
Speaking to the delegates from 23 countries, President Hinain stressed the need for senior citizens to acquire and develop skills in technology usage to keep abreast of the evolving communication means and to be useful to society that tends to regard its seniors as no longer fruitful. She also gave the example of the monetary crisis of Lebanon that affected all citizens and more specifically seniors to encourage them to stay active and revenue generating.
For his part VP Hinain informed the audience of the Silk Road Tourism conference that took place at AUT in April 2025 and answered questions about the means used to provide senior citizens with cultural and educational benefits.
During her stay, President Hinain had the opportunity to discuss relations with the prestigious Charles University of Prague that hosted the conference.
AUT joined the AIUTA association in 2017 and hosted the international conference in October 2019 and is a very active member of this body.
