At the conclusion of a conference that gathered five organizations involved in various aspects of solid waste management, AUT President Chafic Mokbel signed an MOU with Rana Sakr, founder and president of M&R company that stipulates involving AUT and its students in solid waste management.
Awareness workshops and training in various means of handling solid waste and reusing or recycling it will be provided to AUT students and the community.
The conference, organized by the AUT Water Resources Science department was attended by Edde mayor Dr Pierre Khoury and by vice mayor of Amshit Roukoz Zgheib as well as representatives from Ehmej municipality and environmental activists.
