The 21 final projects prepared by Nutrition 201 students were displayed on June 4 together with visual descriptions showing nutritional content.
The projects included salads, sandwiches, hot meals and desserts and were judged by a panel of industry experts from several companies including SONACO Al Rabih, Crepaway, Prunelle, The Diet Center, Byblos Municiplaity Health department and Chef Jo Khoury with the Cyprus Ambassador Ms maria Hadji Theodassiou as guest jury member.
A first round allowed jurors to judge projects on the first two criteria: creativity, visual presentation and communication. The second round focused on taste, nutritional content, and ingredients.
Jury members were accompanied by instructors Reine Gedeon and Marie Therese Akiki.
Students enrolled in this course belong to various majors, not only Nutrition, and the students majoring in Nutrition enroll in this course on their first semester. They constitute only 25% of the students.
