Two students from Tripoli campus Rashad Baroudi (Faculty of Business- MBA program) and Nazih Fino (Faculty of Applied Sciences- Computer Science department) won the Maurice Fadel Competition 2012. This competition, organized by the Maurice Fadel Foundation, is a replica of the MIT Arab Business Plan competition and involves young students from the North who can devise the best business plan for a project that can be beneficial to the North.

Power Breakfast Series Continues: Alain Bifani Meets Finance Students
The opportunity was offered to 23 students from AUT with the highest GPAs to meet with the director general of the Ministry of Finance, Mr Alain Bifani over breakfast on May 9.
Students majoring in Finance and Accounting in both Halat and Tripoli campuses discussed public administration issues and the hiring process at the Ministry of Finance with Mr Bifani after he exposed the structure and role of the Ministry. The Budget issue was also discussed with students who found out more about the reasons why the budget has not yet been formally finalized.
Open Day at AUT
Over 400 students from different high schools attended the Open House Day that took place on May 8 at AUT Halat campus.
Students from Ste Famille Maronite – Jbeil, Modern St Anthony School, Monsif National School, Official School- Amshit, American Universal College from Jounieh, Jbeil, Zahle, Dbaye and Tripoli branches were invited to experience the trendy AUT campus life.
AUT Student Gets Scholarship for International Master Program in Film
Tarek Raffoul is the first student from Lebanon to get a full two-year scholarship from DOC NOMADS Erasmus Mundus for a Masters in documentary making.
The DOC NOMADS European Master Course is a 2-year-long documentary film making course delivered by three European Universities: Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias, Sint-Lukas Brussel Hogeschool voor Wetenschap & Kunst and the consortium leader University of Theatre and Film Arts of Budapest.
Transport Management Special Lectures: A Successful Completion
The intensive 3 days of lectures by world renown transport economics authority, Dr Hercules Haralambides, CEO of the Brindisi Port Authority, ended on Friday April 20. The topic of Shipping Economics was explored in detail with the 9 students enrolled in the course as Dr Haralambides shared his expertise in the field. Shipping Economics is part of the Transport Management and Logistics program offered by AUT with the support of CMA-CGM, the third largest shipping company in the world.
