’s Audio-Visual
Arts department in collaboration with the Embassy of Chile in Lebanon
staged a show for the centennial of Pablo Neruda, the Chilean 1971 Nobel
Prize winner. The show integrated a cast of 60 actors chosen among the
faculty and students, over 20 dancers from the
Dance Club and guest performers. Visual effects gave the show a special
flavor and the set designed by Audio-Visual Arts coordinator, Maroun
Azoury and theater instructor, Johanne Allard allowed the mingling of
scenes from different periods of Neruda’s rich life.
Welcome addresses were given by the ambassador of Chile in Lebanon
and the chairperson of Arts at
,
Rita Faddoul.
Over 550 people attended among which many members of diplomatic missions
in Lebanon. A cocktail reception followed. Rendez-vous next June for
another
Audio-Visual Arts happening.
