The central mission of the American University of Technology (
),
founded in 1998 and first licensed in 2000, is the transmission, expansion, and
application of knowledge through teaching, research and public service... For
the fulfillment of this mission,
provides global higher education to students in Lebanon, the Arab world and the region
and offers a stimulating learning environment where technology is integrated in
the learning/teaching process.

The University believes that the
quality of individual and social life depends on the quality of the mind; thus,
it provides students with the opportunity to become more competent in their
analytical thought, informed judgment, and effective communication to develop an
appreciation for the life of the mind. Graduates from idth="25" height="12">
will be well rounded individuals, independent of mind, life-long learners,
equipped for success in today’s global, inter-cultural workplace |

Teaching Philosophy |

Since traditional methods of education
are no longer compatible with today’s requirements for success in professional
life,
has adopted the student-centered active learning method of education which
includes cooperative, team-based, problem-based and other innovative techniques
of learning. This type of learning serves one of the goals stated in the Mission
of the University as it promotes such skills as data search and analysis,
critical and creative thinking, decision making and team work.

knowledge but will also work in a way that ensures a continued growth in
knowledge and ability to apply what they know in order to gain a successful
entry to the third millennium professional world. |

Facts

The Halat campus located on the Byblos highway is undergoing a major expansion. It is convenient for
students coming from North Metn, Kesrwan, Byblos and the North. Work to add 4
buildings started in April 2001. The central building, the Agora, is in the
final phase but already hosts state-of-the-art computer labs, sound and audio
studios as well as classes all wired to the internet. Students dormitories will
be available as of February 2011, but the towns of Fidar and Halat provide
enough residential space to foreign students already

The Tripoli campus, located at the southern
entrance of Tripoli on Bechara Khoury Avenue serves students from North Lebanon
and offers the same facilities as the Halat campus: a reading room, access to
electronic databases, state-of-the-art computer labs, green areas, a cafeteria,
a student lounge, parking space etc…
Most classrooms at
are equipped with computers, TV monitors and over-head projectors to make
learning adapted to the modern methodologies of learning. The size of classrooms
makes for class sizes not exceeding 30 students, thus enhancing the interaction
between instructors and students.

Facilities
|
In addition to state-of-the-art computer labs and micro-wave Internet connection
access, Cafeterias serve 3 meals to students from Monday to Friday and also
serve as training space for Hotel Management students. Parking facilities are
available free of charge and the sports center will be operational in Halat in
February 2004
