The Oil Spill Catastrophe in Facts and Figures January 28 also witnessed an important presentation by UNDP program manager and MIT graduate, Dr Manale Moussalllem about the consequences of the oil spills resulting from the 2006 war. Over 200 million USD was the cost of the clean-up campaign to which European countries and USAID contributed around 30 million USD. The presenter showed pictures of the clean-up process and explained difficulties faced by the Ministry of Environment and its partners in fulfilling their mission.
