Mario Daou: Class of 2001 Graphic Design |
| |
|
Mario Daou is
currently Senior Art Director at Impact BBDO in
Jeddah, KSA. He joined AUT in Graphic Design and
graduated in 2001 with flying colors and a GPA
that landed him a junior position at his current
company.
A fan of sports,
Mario fondly remembers the famous Salome play
that AUT produced in the Roman site in Mashnaka,
Kartaba in the open air. The play allowed
graphic design students to show their creativity
in costume design and to freely describe the
means used by Salome to get John the Baptist
beheaded. Music and lighting were also designed
by students.
On his work, Mario
states creativity and constant research are key
to promotion in the advertising business and
encourages students currently enrolled at AUT to
continually challenge themselves.
Of the Class of
2001, Mario is certainly a prominent figure!

Maya Trad Class of 2006 Business Administration in Finance |
| |
|
Maya Trad has graduated with a Bachelor of
Business Administration in Finance. She is part
of the Class of 2006 and describes herself as
“energetic, a quick learner, highly motivated,
able to work under pressure with excellent
communication skills”. She has assumed the
position of Finance Officer with an
international medical NGO where she worked since
her graduation till very recently. She says her
position taught her a lot and that she
discovered while working that “all what I
learned at AUT especially in finance courses was
very relevant to what I was doing at work. AUT’s
courses are really an excellent preparation for
work. I did not need training!”
Maya now works as a PR Manager for an ad
company. She actually had been a free-lancer
with this company (Les Arts Advertising and
Design) since 2005. She currently handles direct
contacts with companies, where she introduces
the company’s portfolio with the services above
and below the line: advertising and
communication line, brand development and
consulting, strategic marketing development,
promotions,…
Maya’s versatility comes from the fact she
started working as she was studying. She has
acquired experience in Food and Beverage, credit
card sales, telecom customer service and other
areas, which is the case of many AUT students
who are encouraged to build their careers as
they study towards graduation.
From her AUT days, Maya recalls “the great
atmosphere. I was always happy to go to college.
”She also assures “
All theory I had learned during the 4 years I
spent at AUT was very useful in practice in my
career now, and I acquired a good foundation
knowledge. I am proud of being a graduate of
AUT.”
And AUT is proud of her too

Pierre then moved to Metropolitan Palace
Hotel, Sin el Fil, Lebanon in 2001, as the

restaurants for design and layout. His
current consulting concerns a hotel of 64

restaurants.
About his AUT days as a student, Pierre
says, “It was in 1997 that I joined AUT. I
was so impressed about the harmony between
students and management. During my studies,
I can not forget the excellent collaboration
given by: Mr and Mrs Hinain & Ms Lara Kallas.
The instructors were very thoughtful,
experienced and professional, the majority
of them came from international markets with
a wide experience to share.I was one of the
first groups to move from Jbeil to Halat
Campus. And I was sharing the emergence and
improvements of the Halat Campus will all my
colleagues and instructors.
I do remember all the posters in classes,
especially that which promoted AUT’s
philosophy of learning “Know yourself”. At
AUT I learned how I can know myself and
convert knowledge into results.

enriching and intense contact with

“AUT instructors were very
understanding, very skilled and
