Admission to programs follows regulations in terms of requirements and dates. Students can join in the fall semester (October), the spring semester (end of February) or in the summer term (July).

Admission to the Fall semester

There are 2 admission plans for students who wish to join in the fall semester: The Early Admission Plan and the Regular Admission Plan

The Early Admission Plan

Students applying under this plan must submit their application forms
before May 10 of the year preceding admission. This plan allows applicants to secure acceptance in the major of their choice early enough and will be receive final acceptance once they satisfy the other admission requirements at a later stage. Applicants under this plan are exempted from paying the LP50000 application fee.

The Regular Admission Plan

Students applying under this plan must submit their application forms
before mid-September of the year preceding admission. Applicants may or may not be accepted in the major they selected according to acceptance quotas. Applicants under this plan must pay the LP75000 application fee.
 

 

 

 

1.       For students applying for Sophomore year (students preparing their Bacc)

Under the Early Admission Plan    

  Candidates must submit their application forms before May 10 of the year preceding admission. The documents to be submitted before May 10 with the application form are:

  • The score reports for Grade 11 (1ere) and the first term of Grade 12 (terminale)
  • Identification documents
  • Four passport-size photos

Students applying under this plan are accepted on the condition they pass the official Lebanese secondary exam (Baccalaureate) or they show an equivalence to this certificate in the summer preceding the year of enrollment. The acceptance will be final upon presenting the official Baccalaureate or its equivalence. Candidates applying under Early Admission are exempted from the LP75000 application fee. If applications are received after May 10, the application fee must be paid.

Placement exams in English are usually organized in April and May for students applying under Early Admissions. Placement exams in Math and Sciences, if needed for the major, are taken in the summer preceding the year of enrollment.

 

Under the Regular Admission Plan 

Candidates must submit their application forms before mid-September of the year preceding admission. The documents to be submitted with the application form are:

  • The score reports for Grade 11 (1ere) and Grade 12 (terminale)
  • A certified copy of the Lebanese Baccalaureate or its equivalence
  • Identification documents
  • Four passport-size photos
  • The application fee of LB 75000 (or $50)

 

2.       For students applying for Freshman year (American High School)

Candidates must submit their application forms before mid-September of the year preceding admission. The documents to be submitted with the application form are:

  • The score reports for Grade 11 and the first term of Grade 12
  • Identification documents
  • The exemption from Arabic delivered by the Ministry of Education
  • Four passport-size photos
  • SAT I and SAT II scores showing a total minimum of 2750 (can be presented anytime before September preceding admission year)
  • The application fee of LB75000(or $50)

Candidates applying under Early Admission are exempted from the LP50000 application fee. If applications are received after May 10, the application fee must be paid.

Placement exams in English are usually organized in April and May for students applying under Early Admissions. Placement exams in Math, if needed for the major, are taken in the summer preceding the year of enrollment.


N.B. The Equivalence Committee at the Lebanese Ministry of Education specifies the following subjects in SAT II and scores of SAT I and SAT II combined:

SAT II Exams for applicants to the Freshman Sciences:

  • Mathematics 2 C
  • Two sciences from biology, chemistry or physics

SAT II Exams for applicants to Freshman Arts:

  • Mathematics 1 or 1C
  • Two additional topics to be selected by the candidate

Applicants should obtain a minimum combined score of SAT I and SAT II of 2750 to be accepted in Freshman Arts and 2850 for Freshman Sciences and not less than 300 in individual tests.
 

Admission to the Spring semester or the Summer term

Applicants submit the same documents needed for Freshman or Sophomore admission as detailed in the sections above. Deadlines for application are:

  •  Mid-February for admission in the Spring semester
  •  Mid-June for admission in the Summer term

 

 

Students who have started their university studies at a recognized and accredited institution of higher education and wish to transfer to must supply the following documents:

  • An application form duly filled out
  • The official Baccalaureate diploma or its equivalence
  • An official transcript issued by the institution the student is transferring from
  • Identification papers
  • Family extract
  • 4 passport-size photos

 

 

Students who apply for admission under this category do not seek a degree from . They may be cross-registering from another university for a semester only or may want to enroll in specific courses for professional development.

The following documents need to be submitted:

  • An application form duly filled out
  • Identification papers
  • An official transcript if applicable
  • 4 passport-size photos

The English Placement Exam is required. 

 

 

Candidates for admissions to the Sophomore Program need to sit for placement tests as follows:

Faculty of Business Administration:
placement tests in Math and English.

Faculty of Arts And Humanities

  -Department of English Languages and Literature: A placement test in English.

Faculty of Applied Sciences:
placement tests in English and Math. Additional tests in Physics is required for Computer Engineering.


Recognized English Tests Equivalence

Students who score 210 (computer score) or 550 (paper-based score) on TOEFL are exempted from the
English Placement Exam

Similarly SAT I Verbal scores of 530 or higher exempt from taking the
English Placement Exam

Test and Application Fees:

English test: LP50000

Math and other Science tests: LP50000 (for one or all)

Application fee: LP50000
